Dear Parents Beste Ouers

In the light of the current indecision of the DoE we do not have the mandate to open schools without permission of our District. We will wait until Minister Agie’s press conference tomorrow at 11:00 to gain clarity.

We trust that we will be allowed to bring the Grade 7’s back on Tuesday. We will keep you updated.

Covid-19 SPECIAL NEWSLETTER 3 OF 2020

PROTOCOL FOR GR 7 BACK TO SCHOOL ON 1 JUNE 2020:

It is OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE that ALL parents read the whole document until the end.

AT HOME:

  1. If your child shows any symptoms of the Covid-19 virus (high temperature, a dry cough, difficulty breathing, feeling weak and tired, or a sore throat) they must please stay at home. Please monitor them regularly.
  2. Ensure that your child’s mask is clean and washed daily. (The school will supply each child with 2 masks: one is free and the other at a cost of R10)
  3. Please regularly make your child aware of the basic hygiene rules: wash your hands often, sanitize your hands, and don’t touch your face, no hugging.
  4. School bag has been sanitized
  5. Learners should have their own small bottle of sanitizer, as well as wet wipes.
  6. Learners will be informed in advance in which class they will be divided, hereby limiting the number of learners in a class to 17. This will be done via WhattsApp.
  7. Learners are to wear school uniform.
  8. Pack a lunch box.

 

AT SCHOOL:

  1. The school gates will only open at 07:20 and close at 07:45. Learners are to remain in parents vehicles until the gates open and should not gather at the gate.
  2. Parents are to drop learners at school but must remain in the parking area until your child has passed the screening area and has been allowed into school.
  3. Learners are to line up at gate 5 (Which is the aftercare gate).
  4. They should stand on the painted marks on the ground.
  5. Your child’s temperature will be taken by the HOD on duty and this will be recorded on a class list. They will be asked the 5 basic health questions.  A notification is at the gate with the questions which they can read while waiting in the row. When a child does not pass the screening test he/she will return to their parent’s vehicle.
  6. A sanitizing dish will be placed on the ground through which each learner must walk.
  7. Learners should then go straight to their register classes where they will be met by the register teachers. Each class has been supplied with sanitizing liquid, paper towels, an anti-bacterial air spray and a bleach.
  8. In order to enable social distancing marks have been painted in front of every class where learners should line up.
  9. Learners who develop symptoms during the day will be taken to the isolation room (school hall). They will be screened again and if necessary you will be contacted to come and collect your child.
  10. The windows in the classrooms will be opens to ensure a fresh breeze flows through the class, the desks, chairs, light switches and door handles will all be sanitized the previous day.
  11. Learners will be placed individually at a desk.
  12. Learners will remain in the class for the whole day. Teachers will move from class to class.
  1. No personal items, such as pens, pencils, rubbers, exercise books, text books ext. may be exchanged or lent.
  2. Learners will sit and eat in class during breaks. No food may be shared.
  1. Areas have been allocated for each class to “play” during break. Social distancing is still of the utmost importance.
  2. No ball games or contact games will be allowed. Two staff members will do duty at each of the play areas.
  3. After breaks learners will move back to their classes by still maintaining social distancing.
  4. Desks and chairs will be sanitized three times: 09:00, 11:00 and 13:00.
  5. At the end of the day the time that learners will be dismissed will be staggered with 5 minute intervals. Please be on time to fetch your children.
  6. No extra mural activities will take place.
  7. Masks must be worn at all times.
  8. After care will be available.

 

BATHROOM ROUTINE

  1. When a learner wants to go to the bathroom, his/her hands will be sanitized before leaving the class.
  2. The door of the bathroom will remain open so that learners need not touch the door handle.
  3. Toilets will be marked per grade. Only certain grades will use specific toilets.
  4. The toilet must be flushed after use. A piece of toilet paper must be used to flush the handle and to open the toilet door.  The paper must be placed in a dustbin placed in the bathroom.
  5. Toilets and basins will be cleaned on a regular basis according to Departmental regulations.
  6. Special foam soap containers have been installed in each bathroom.
  7. Hands must be washed and dried with a paper towel, which must be placed in the dustbin.
  8. Once the learner is back in class his/her hands will be sanitized once again.
  9. Masks are to be worn at all times.
  10. A anti-bacterial spray has been installed in each bathroom to eliminate any germs. This container will spray automatically every 15 minutes.

AFTER SCHOOL:

  1. The school’s cleaning team will come in after school to sanitize all desks, desks and classrooms. The bathrooms will once again be sanitized.
  2. Windows will be closed.
  3. A control form has been designed which will be filled out every time the bathrooms and classrooms are cleaned.

ACADEMIC PLAN:

  1. The DoE has provided us with a revised academic plan with reduced content.
  2. This plan is subject related, which together with the grade head has been refined to the fit in with our school’s unique situation.
  3. Each class with be divided into two groups of no more than 17 learners per class. The one group will be attending class with the subject teacher and the other by a supervision teacher.
  4. The lesson will be presented via Zoom and projected onto a big screen at the adjacent classroom. Learners will still be able to ask questions or ask for assistance if needed.
  5. With the following lesson presented by the same class teacher, the teacher will change classrooms so that each learner gets an opportunity to be in direct contact with that specific class teacher.
  6. Learners that stay at home due to medical reasons will be able to download the lesson.

LEARNERS REMAINING AT HOME

  1. The school must be advised immediately of any learners that suffer with chronic illnesses, in doing so special arrangements can be made.
  2. Any learner remaining at home for whatever reasons it may be, must make the necessary arrangement with the specific register teacher. This arrangement must be made via WhattsApp on or BEFORE day 1.
  3. Learners that have medical reasons (Asthma, diabetes, heart problems, etc) which the parents feel will not be safe for them to return must request a medical certificate from their doctor and together with a covering letter e-mail both to the following e-mail address office@huttenpark.co.za
  4. Learners/parents can come and collect copied notes from the school only if arrangements have been made via e-mail beforehand. The specific subject teacher will provide you with their e-mail address.

OTHER GRADES STILL AT HOME:

  1. The staff at school will be busy preparing lessons which will be sent to learners via e-mail, WhatsApp, Google Classroom or Zoom.
  2. Please would you assist your child in doing this homework.
  3. We still have no indication as to when the other grades will be phased in.

GENERAL:

  1. A Covid-19 Management Committee, as well as a Health and Security Committee have been established to implement the required measures and to do monitoring.
  2. The school has already been sanitized by a professional company before any staff members returned. This includes the admin block, the hall, bathrooms and all classrooms which will be used.
  3. Initially the Tuck shop will not be open.
  4. There will be a Wi-Fi hotspot in front of the school which parents can use to download the free lessons. You can remain in your motor vehicle and use the school internet access. This service is complementary from Crazy Web.  (More information will follow).
  5. Learners will be allowed to wear face masks (shields).
  6. Any staff member of learner with flu symptoms must please stay home and self-isolate for two weeks.
  7. No Covid-19 jokes will be allowed, or learners pretending to sneeze on anyone else.
  8. All parents, visitors or service providers may not enter the school premises without making an appointment and filling out a special access form. All visitors must report to the admin office in which a visitor’s card will be issued to them once screening has been done. The same procedure will be done before being allowed to go to the HippoTique.
  9. An on-line purchasing system will be put in place for purchases from the HippoTique. (More information will follow)
  • No parents will be allowed to wait for their children at the school gates or anywhere on the school grounds. Parents are to remain in their motor vehicles.

 

HOME SCHOOLING

  1. There are three options available:

Learners remaining at home due to medical reasons. (Refer to Point 1.2 for method of learning)

 

  • Parents keeping their children at home due to fear of the well-

being of their children concerning the Covid-19 epidemic.

  • In doing so the school and staff will still support your child.
  • You continue paying your school fees.
  • Learners will receive work from the school via e-learning.
  • Notes can be collected from the school.
  • You must oversee that the work gets done and if necessary returned back to school.
  • Assessments will still take place.
  • Exams will be written at school.

 

  • Parents which will prefer to have their children home schooled:
  • Parents wanting to have their children taught via home schooling must notify the school immediately, so that we can remove your child from our system. In doing so, no correspondence, learning material, e-learning or information will be received from the school.
  • These children must be registered with an accredited home schooling institution and proof thereof must be sent to the school.
  • Please keep us informed regarding your child’s situation.

Our aim regarding all these regulations is to ensure safety of your child at all times.  Your support is critical to enable us to reach our goals.

Please also remember that children are dependent on social inter-action for development.  Please think carefully about your child not being part of the school set-up. This important choice rests with you and we will respect whatever choice you make.

Covid-19 SPESIALE NUUSBRIEF 3 VAN 2020

PROTOKOL VIR GR 7 TERUG SKOOL TOE OP 1 JUNIE:

Dit is van uiterste belang dat alle ouers die hele dokument tot aan die einde lees.

BY DIE HUIS:

  1. Indien u kind enige simptome van die Coronavirus toon (soos hoë koors, droë hoes, kort asem, seer keel of lusteloosheid) moet hulle asseblief by die huis bly. Toets hulle gereeld vir simptome.
  2. Verseker dat u kind se masker daagliks skoon gewas is. (Skool sal 2 voorsien: 1 gratis en een teen R10)
  3. Ouers moet asseblief gereeld kinders bewus maak van basiese gesondheidsreëls: Hande is gewas en gesaniteer, moenie aan gesig vat nie, geen drukkies nie.
  4. Skooltas is gesaniteer
  5. Verseker wet wipes en klein botteltjie handsaniteerder is ingepak
  6. Leerling ontvang vooraf klaslys (via WhattsApp) met klasindeling. Registerklas word in twee klasse verdeel om getalle te beperk.
  7. Leerlinge dra skooluniform.
  8. Pak kospakkie.

BY DIE SKOOL:

  1. Hekke open vir leerlinge om 07:20 en sluit om 07:45. Hulle bly in u motor tot 07:20.
  2. Ouers laai kind af, maar ry nie voor kind getoets/ gescreen is nie.
  3. Leerlinge tree aan voor hek 5 (nasorghek)
  4. Staan op die kolle wat op die grond gemerk is.
  5. Kind se temperatuur word geneem deur HOD en aangeteken op ‘n klaslys deur die graadhoof. Hulle word die 5 basiese vrae gevra.  Daar sal ‘n plakkaat buite die hek op wees met die vrae, waarvan hulle hulself moet vergewis.  Indien kind ‘n hoë koors het of ander simptome toon gaan hy terug na sy ouer se motor/ of vervoer toe.
  6. ‘n Sanitasiebak met ‘n bleikmiddel sal by die hek wees waardeur die kinders moet loop.
  7. Kind beweeg direk na registerklas. Elke klas is voorsien van sanitasiemiddel, papierhandoeke, ‘n kiemwerende lugsproeimiddel en ‘n bleikmiddel.
  8. Kinders word ingewag deur registeronderwyser en leerlinge staan op kolle wat voor klas geverf is om sosiale afstand te handhaaf.
  9. Kinders wat deur die loop van die dag simptome toon, word na die isolasiekamer geneem en u sal gekontak word.
  10. Klasse se vensters is oopgemaak deur die onderwyser, banke, ligskakelaar en deurhandvatsel is gesaniteer.
  11. Kinders gaan klasse binne en word een een by ‘n bank geplaas.
  12. Kinders bly vir die dag in die klas. Onderwysers sal klasse wissel.
  13. Geen persoonlike items soos penne, potlode, uitveërs, skrifte of handboeke ens mag gedeel of uitgeruil word nie.
  14. Tydens pouse sal leerlinge eers in die klas sit en eet. Geen kos mag gedeel word nie.
  15. Verskillende areas is vir elke klas toegeken waar kinders rustig kan verkeer en steeds hulle sosiale afstand handhaaf.
  16. Geen balspeletjies of kontakspeletjies word toegelaat nie. Daar sal 2 personeellede by elke area diens doen.
  17. Na pouse beweeg leerlinge terug na hulle klasse deur heeltyd sosiale afstand te handhaaf.
  18. Banke en stoele sal 3 keer deur die loop van die dag gesaniteer word: 09:00, 11:00 en 13:00.
  19. Aan die einde van die dag sal leerlinge se uitkomtyd met 5 minute afgewissel word. Ouers moet asseblief stiptelik hul kinders afhaal.
  20. Geen buitemuurse aktiwiteite sal plaasvind nie.
  21. Maskers moet te alle tye gedra word.

BADKAMER ROETINE

  1. Indien kinders badkamer toe moet gaan sal hulle onderwyser hulle hande saniteer voor hulle die klas verlaat.
  2. Badkamer se buitedeur sal oop wees sodat kind nie aan die handvatsel raak nie.
  3. Toilette sal gemerk wees per graad.
  4. Die toilet moet na gebruik gespoel word. Leerlinge kan ‘n stukkie toiletpapier gebruik om die handvatsel te hanteer, asook die deurslot oop te maak en die papiertjie in die asdrom gooi.
  5. Toilette en wasbakke sal gereeld volgens regulasie skoongemaak word.
  6. Spesiale houers met skuimseep is in elke badkamer installeer.
  7. Hande word gewas met seep en drooggevee met ‘n papierhanddoekie wat in ‘n asdrom gegooi moet word.
  8. Terug by die klas word die kind se hande weer gesaniteer.
  9. Maskers word te alle tye gedra.
  • ‘n Anti-bakteriese sproeimiddel is ook in die badkamers aangebring om kieme af te weer en spuit outomaties elke 15 minute.

NA SKOOL:

  1. Die skoonmaakspan kom in en saniteer die hele klas asook die badkamers.
  2. Vensters word toegemaak.
  3. Kontrolevorm word ingevul om te bevestig dat klas en badkamers skoongemaak is.

AKADEMIESE PLAN:

  1. Die DvO het ons voorsien van ‘n gewysigde akademiese plan met verminderde inhoud.
  2. Hierdie plan is in vakverband, saam met die vakhoof verder verfyn om by ons skool se unieke omstandighede aan te pas.
  3. Elke klas sal in twee groepe verdeel word met nie meer as 17 leerlinge per klas nie. Die een groep sal by die vakonderwyser sit en die ander by ‘n bekwame toesigonderwyser.
  4. Die les sal via Zoom aangebied word en op die groot skerm in die klas langsaan vertoon word. Leerlinge kry steeds die kans om vrae te vra en onduidelikhede aan te dui.
  5. Met die volgende periode van dieselfde klas sal die onderwysers omruil sodat almal direkte kontaktyd met die vakonderwyser het.
  6. Die les sal ook deur leerlinge wat om mediese redes tuis bly afgelaai kan word. (Meer besonderhede sal volg)

LEERLINGE WAT TUIS BLY:

  1. Leerlinge wat ly aan chroniese siektes moet die skool onmiddellik in kennis stel sodat spesiale reëlings getref kan word.
  2. Enige leerling wat om watter rede ookal tuis bly, moet ‘n relëing tref met die spesifieke registeronderwyser. Hierdie reëling moet via WhattsApp gemaak word op of VOOR dag 1.
  3. Leerlinge wat weens mediese redes (asma, suikersiekte, hartprobleme ens. nie veilig by die skool gaan voel nie se ouers moet asseblief ‘n mediese sertifikaat met ‘n dekbrief aan die skool e-pos by office@huttenpark.co.za
  4. Leerlinge/ ouers kan die afgerolde aantekeninge by die skool kom haal indien reëlings vooraf per e-pos gemaak is. Die vakonderwyser sal u van hul e-posadres voorsien.

ANDER GRADE WAT NOG TUIS BLY:

  1. Die personeel sal by die skool besig wees om e-leer lesse voor te berei en aan leerders via e-pos, WhatsApp, Google Classroom of Zoom uit te stuur.
  2. U moet asseblief help dat die kinders hierdie werk doen.
  3. Daar is nog geen aanduiding van wanneer die ander grade infaseer sal word nie.

ALGEMEEN

  1. ‘n Covid-19 Bestuurskomitee asook ‘n Gesondheids-en veiligheidskomitee is op die been gebring om die vereiste maatreëls te implimenteer en te monitor.
  2. Die skool is deur ‘n buite instansie voor die terugkeer van die personeel professioneel gesaniteer. Dit sluit in die adminblok, die saal, die badkamers en alle klaskamers wat gebruik gaan word.
  3. Die snoepwinkel sal aanvanklik nie oop wees nie.
  4. Daar sal ‘n Wi-Fi Hotspot voor die skool wees indien ouers dokumentasie of lesse GRATIS wil aflaai. U kan in u motor bly en van die skool se internet gebruik maak.  Hierdie diens is met die vriendelike vergunning van Crazy Web. (Meer besonderhede volg)
  5. Leerlinge sal toegelaat word om gesigskerms (shields) te dra.
  6. Enige personeellid of leerling wat grieptipe simptome toon moet tuis bly en vir twee weke self- isoleer.
  7. Geen Covid-19 grappe mag gemaak word nie, en leerlinge mag nie grappendergewys op iemand nies nie.
  8. Alle ouers, besoekers en diensverskaffers mag nie die skool binnekom sonder dat hulle ‘n afspraak gemaak het en ‘n spesiale toegangsvorm ingevul het nie. Alle besoekers moet by die kantoor aanmeld en ‘n besoekerskaartjie kry.  Ook diegene wat die HippoTique besoek.
  9. ‘n Aanlyn aankoopstelsel sal in plek gestel word vir aankope by die HippoTique. Meer inligting sal later volg.
  10. Geen ouers word op die skoolgronde of hy die hekke toegelaat om vir hul kinders te wag nie. Ouers moet asseblief in hulle voertuie wag.

TUISONDERRIG

  1. Daar is drie opsies beskikbaar:

                1.1 Leerlinge wat tuis bly weens onderliggende mediese redes. (Sien punt 1.2 vir werkswyse)

                1.2 Ouers wat hulle kinders tuis hou as gevolg van hul vrese oor hulle kinders se welstand met die Covid-19 virus epidemie.

  • Hier sal die skool en personeel u kinders steeds ondersteun.
  • U bly steeds skoolfonds betaal.
  • Leerlinge sal werk by die skool ontvang via e-leer.
  • Aantekeninge kan by die skool afgehaal word.
  • U moet toesien dat die werk gedoen word en indien nodig teruggestuur word skool toe.
  • Assesserings sal steeds plaasvind.

Eksamen sal by die skool afgelê word.

 

1.3.    Ouers wat verkies om hulle kinders tuis te onderrig (Homeschooling):

  • Ouers wat besluit om hulle kinders tuis te onderrig moet die skool laat weet sodat hulle van ons sisteem afgehaal kan word. Hulle sal dus geen korrespondensie, leermateriaal, e-leer inligting van die skool ontvang nie.
  • Hierdie kinders moet by ‘n geakrediteerde tuisonderrigsentrum geregistreer word en bewys daarvan moet aan die skool gestuur word.
  • Alle kinders van 6 tot 16 jaar is volgens die SA Skolewet verplig om ‘n publieke skool, privaatskool of tuisskool by te woon.
  • Indien u, u kind uit Huttenpark haal sal u weer deur die hele proses van aansoek doen, moet gaan.
  1. Hou ons asseblief op hoogte van u kind se situasie.

 

Ons doel met al die regulasies is om te alle tye die veiligheid van u kind te verseker.  U ondersteuning is kritiek om ons doelstellings te kan bereik.

Onthou dat kinders afhanklik is van sosiale interaksie en ontwikkeling.  Dink twee keer voor u, u kind ontneem om weer deel van die skoolopset te word.  Hierdie belangrike keuse berus egter by u, en ons sal u besluit respekteer.

 

Ons sien baie daarna uit om ons eerste groep Maandag by die skool te verwelkom.  Van hierdie inligting van verander as ander grade uiteindelik bykom.
