SCHOOL GOVERNING BODY ELECTIONS 6 MARCH 2018

  1. Please take note that the election of the parent members for the School Governing Body will take place on 6 March 2018. Take note that six (6) parents have to be elected for a 3 year term. Nomination forms are available at the office.
  2. A voters roll, according to the admissions register, has been prepared of parents who are eligible to vote. It’s your responsibility to ensure that all the details on the voters roll are correct.  The voters roll is available in the office and the forms to update your particulars can be collected from Carol Scheepers.  Any complaint relating to the voters roll must be referred to the principal at least 7 days prior to the election date.
  3. Separate meetings will be held for the election of 3 educator members and 1 member of staff.
  4. I, as principal, am automatically appointed as a member of the SGB.
  5. Other members can be co-opted onto the SGB by the elected members.
  6. Who needs make themselves available?
    • Experts in the following areas: grounds and buildings; marketing and communication; counseling, academics and culture; sport; finances; human resources; computer centres and technology; vehicles; school safety, security, welfare and discipline. These may be adjusted according to the skills of the chosen members.
    • Parents who are extremely loyal to the school and who will be a friend of the school. This person must be available for meetings, functions and be prepared to be involved.
    • Parents who are prepared to be trained and empowered.
    • Parents who are prepared to attend meetings and to be selected as office bearers (Chairman, Vice chairman, Treasurer and Secretary).
    • Parents who endeavor for quality education, healthy discipline, honest financial management, transparency and integrity.
    • Parents who are ready to take on a huge responsibility and who will respect all confidential matters.
  7. It is essential that you cast your vote on 6 March so that the continued existence and ethos of the school are protected.
  8. In order for the election meeting to be constituted legally, 15% of all voters on the voters roll must be present. If not, then a second meeting will be held within two weeks without a quorum being necessary and a minority of parents being able to elect the SGB.  This meeting will be held on 8 March 2018 if necessary.
  9. No person may be elected as a member of a governing body if he or she:
  • Has been convicted of an offence to more than 1 month’s imprisonment without the option of a fine, either in the Republic or outside of the Republic, if the conduct constituting the offence would have been an offence in the RSA. No one may be regarded as having been sentenced until, an appeal against the conviction of the sentence has been determined; or the time of appeal has expired, provided that the disqualification ended 5 years after the sentence has been completed;
  • Is of unsound mind and has been declared so by a competent court;
  • Is an unrehabilitated insolvent;
  • Is a parent but not a South African citizen or not in possession of a permanent resident permit unless permitted by the SG.
  • Is a parent but no longer has a child enrolled at the school.

 

  1. At the election meeting:
  • An assistant electoral officer and a secretary will be appointed;
  • Parents (voters) must identify themselves with an identity document, drivers license or passport;
  • Persons who do not qualify as voters will not be allowed to enter the hall;
  • The meeting will be regarded as a “closed” meeting;
  • All nomination forms must be signed by the proposer, the seconder as well as the nominated candidate. The person nominated need not be at the meeting but the proposer and seconder must attend.
  • The parent who nominated a candidate will be afforded the opportunity to introduce the candidate and give reasons for the nomination or the candidate can introduce him/herself to the meeting. A maximum of 5 minutes will be allowed for the introduction. A multi-media projector will be available if a candidate would like to make use of this technology to strengthen his/her introduction.  This cd/memory stick with your presentation must reach the school before 10:00 on the day of the election so that we can see if it compatible with our system.
  • Every voter will have six (6) votes. Voting, by secret ballot, will only take place if more than 6 nominations have been received.
  1. Nomination forms are available from Teresa Young in the admin office.
  2. These nomination forms, duly signed, must be handed in at the office at the latest one day before the election meeting. On the evening of the election 15 minutes will be set aside for any new nominations.

BEHEERLIGGAAMVERKIESING  6 MAART 2018

  1. Neem kennis van die verkiesing van ouers vir die Skool Beheerliggaam wat plaasvind op 6 Maart 2018.   Daar moet ses(6) ouers verkies word vir ‘n 3 jaar termyn. Nominasievorms is in die kantoor beskikbaar.
  2. Die skool het reeds volgens die toelatingsregister ‘n kieserslys van ouers wat mag stem saamgestel.  Dit is u verantwoordelikheid om te verseker dat u korrekte besonderhede op die kieserslys verskyn.  Die kieserslys, asook die opdateringsvorm is in die kantoor beskikbaar.  Enige klagte in verband met die kieserslys moet gerig word aan die skoolhoof minstens 7 dae voor die verkiesing.
  3. Aparte verkiesings sal gehou word vir die verkiesing van 3 opvoeders asook 1 nie-opvoeder.
  4. Ek, as skoolhoof, word in my amptelike hoedanigheid ex officio verkies.
  5. Ander lede kan ook geköopteer word vir hul kundigheid.
  6. Wie moet hulle beskikbaar stel?:
    1. Kundige persone op die gebied van gronde en geboue;  bemarking en kommunikasie; leerlingsake, akademie en kultuur; sport ; finansies;  menslike hulpbronne;  rekenaarsentrums en tegnologie;  voertuie; skoolveiligheid, sekuriteit, welsyn en dissipline.
    2. Ouers wat oorvloedig lojaal teenoor die skool en ‘n vriend van die skool sal wees, en hy/sy moet ook betrokke en beskikbaar wees.
    3. Ouers wat bereid is om opgelei en bemagtig te word rakende BL sake.
    4. Ouers wat bereid is om vergaderings by te woon en ook  ampsdraers (Voorsitter, Onder-voorsitter, Tesourier en Sekretaris/esse sal wees.
    5. Ouers wat kwaliteitonderwys, gesonde dissipline, eerlike finansiële bestuur, deursigtigheid en geloofwaardigheid voorstaan.
    6. Persone wat gereed is om groot verantwoordelikhede op die hart te dra en om vertroulike sake te eerbiedig.
  7. Dit is uiters noodsaaklik dat u, u stem uitbring op hierdie aand.  Die voortbestaan en etos van die skool is daarvan afhanklik.
  8. n Kworum van 15% van alle ouers moet teenwoordig wees vir die verkiesing om wettig te konstitueer.  Anders moet ‘n volgende vergadering binne 2 weke van die eerste vergadering belê word sonder dat ‘n kworum bereik moet word, en dat ‘n minderheid van die ouers die beheerliggaam kan  verkies.  Indien nodig sal hierdie vergadering op       8 Maart 2018 gehou word.
  9. Wie mag nie verkies word nie:  
    1. Enige ouer wat skuldig bevind is van ‘n misdryf en tot  tronkstraf van langer as 12 maande sonder die keuse van ‘n boete in die RSA of buite die RSA gevonnis is.  Geen persoon mag as veroordeelde beskou word indien daar ‘n appél teen so ‘n persoon hangend is , of as die tydperk van appél reeds verstryk het.
    2. Geestelik versteurd is en as sodanig deur ‘n bevoegde hof verklaar is;
    3. In diens van die department is en by die skool gestasioneer is,
    4. ‘n ongerehabiliteerde insolvent;
    5. ‘n ouer wat nie ‘n burger van die RSA is nie en nie ‘n residensiële permit het nie;
    6. ‘n ouer wie nie ‘n ingeskrewe kind by die skool het nie.
  10.  By die verkiesingsvergadering:
    1. Sal daar ‘n assistent verkiesingsbeampte asook sekretaresse aangestel word.
    2. Moet ouers (kiesers) hulself identifiseer met ‘n identiteitsdokument, bestuurslisensie of paspoort.
    3. Sal persone wat nie kwalifiseer as kieser nie, weggewys word en nie toegelaat word om die saal binne te kom nie.
    4. Sal die vergadering as ‘n geslote vergadering beskou word.
    5. Moet alle nominasievorms behoorlik geteken  wees deur die voorsteller, sekondant asook die genomineerde. Die genomineerde hoef nie op die aand van die verkiesing teenwoordig te wees nie, maar die voorsteller en sekondant wel.
    6. Sal die voorsteller die geleentheid gegun word om die genomineerde voor te stel en redes te gee vir so ‘n voorstel.  ‘n Kandidaat kan hom/haarself ook voorstel. ‘n Multi-media projektor sal beskikbaar wees indien u van die tegnologie wil gebruik om u motivering te versterk.  Die cd/ geheuestokkie met u aanbieding moet die skool teen 10:00 op die dag van die verkiesing bereik sodat aanpasbaarheid by die stelsel gekontroleer kan word.  ‘n Maksimum tyd van 5 minute per nominasie sal toegelaat word.
    7. Sal elke kieser geregtig wees om ses (6) stemme uit te bring en sal daar slegs gestem word indien daar meer as 6 nominasies is.
  11. Nominasievorms is by Teresa Young in die adminkantoor beskikbaar.  
  12. Hierdie nominasievorms, behoorlik geteken, deur die genomineerde, die voorsteller asook die sekondant moet een (1) dag voor die verkiesingsvergadering by die skool ingehandig word.  Daar sal 15 minute kans gegun word vir nuwe nominasies op die aand van die verkiesing.

Ek wil u weer herinner aan die belangrikheid van hierdie verkiesingsvergadering.

Dit is van uiterste belang dat ons ouers verkies was bereid is om te werk en deurgaans in belang van die ontwikkeling van die skool kan optree.   U teenwoordigheid is noodsaaklik.

2018 MEDICINE POLICY

According to law, medicine should not be administered to learners. To accommodate this we have designed a form on which parents can give permission to the school to administer certain medicines.  If you do not approve in writing then no medicine will be given to your child when he/she is not feeling well and you as parent will be contacted to collect your child from school if an urgent situation arises.

MEDISYNEBELEID: Volgens wetgewing mag ons nie medisyne aan leerlinge voorsien nie. Ons het egter ‘n vorm ontwerp waarby u, as ouer, toestemming verleen dat ons spesifieke medikasie kan toedien. Indien u nie toestemming verleen nie sal geen medikasie aan u kind gegee word nie, en sal u geskakel word om u kind by die skool te kom haar. Vul asseblief die meegaande vorm in en stuur terug na u kind se registeronderwyser.

LUNCHES: Just a reminder that wholesome meals are available at R 28 per meal. (Meals e.g. Macaroni & cheese; Cottage Pie; meat balls, mash & peas; wors & vegetables etc.). Meals are served at 12:00 in the Lapa. If you would like to order, please send the money and the order form back to school.  Lunch will be available from Monday 22 January and menus will be sent out in this week.

Dear Parents

We’ve put together our Top 5 reasons why we think children should play sport.  We believe playing sports offers kids of all age’s countless benefits and assists in improving their physical, social and mental well-being.

  1. Sports boost self-esteem.Children learn to be confident on the field. Seeing their hard work pay off brings about loads of self-confidence. When kids achieve their goals on the field it teaches them they can achieve any other goal they set later on down the track.
  2. Playing sports help develop teamwork and leadership skills.Working toward a common goal helps children develop communication and problem-solving skills that will benefit them on the field and off.
  3. It’s a natural stress reliever.Exercise is a great way for kids to loosen up and let go. Sports also help kids develop relationships, which become a support system for them.
  4. Kids develop lifelong healthy lifestyle habits.Regular physical activity improves a child’s fitness and helps them to stay in shape.
  5. It’s fun!It gives your child a group to belong to. They have a group of friends that has the same goals and interests.

Please take note of the following important issues:

  1. In event of inclement weather, decisions by the headmaster related to the cancellation of practices will only be taken at 13:00 on practice days. Please do not phone the school before this time.
  2. Correct sports clothes must be worn for all practices. No baggy shorts will be allowed on the rugby field. Please wear proper rugby shorts. No lady tops/spaghetti straps tops for netball practice.
  3. Parents are to please be waiting for learners at least 30 minutes before time of arrival for away fixtures. Educators will only wait 15 minutes after arrival back to school.
  4. Participants must excuse themselves before FIRST break if they cannot attend a practice or match. (NOTE: NOT at the end of the school day).
  5. IF A LEARNER IS ILL OR UNABLE TO ATTEND A MATCH PARENTS ARE TO PLEASE NOTIFY THE EDUCATOR BY 10:00 SO THAT REPLACEMENT CAN BE FOUND.
  6. Once committed to an activity, learners are expected to attend all practices and matches.  We do not allow learners to switch between sports codes eg. from hockey to netball half way into the season.
  7. Please communicate with the respective coaches if you encounter any problems or have any requests or suggestions.

Heats will take place during school time on Thursday 18 Jan and Friday 19 Jan  Learners from grade 4-7 may come to school in their sports clothes.  The Inter House Athletics Meeting will take place on Friday 26 Jan at Amajuba High School.

 

BUITEMUURSE PROGRAM: 1e en 2e Kwartaal 2018:

Beste Ouers

Ons het die 5 top redes saamgestel om te bepaal waarom ons dink dat dit ‘n goeie idee is dat leerlinge sport moet speel.  Om aan ‘n sportsoort deel te neem gee leerlinge van alle ouderdomme menige voordele en dra by tot hulle fisiese, sosiale en geestelike ontwikkeling.

  1. Sport bou selfvertroue en eie waarde:Kinders leer om met selfvertroue te speel, veral as hulle sien dat hulle harde werk vrugte afgewerp het. As hulle, hulle mikpunte en doelwitte bereik op die sportveld leer dit hulle dat hulle al hulle ander doelwitte ook kan bereik.
  2. Sport help ontwikkel spanwerk en leierskaps eienskappe: Deur saam te werk aan ‘n gemeenskaplike doel of mikpunt help dit kinders om kommunikasie-asook probleemoplossings- vaardighede te ontwikkel. Leerlinge kan die voordeel daarvan op die veld asook in die klaskamer en in die lewe daarbuite benut.
  3. Dit is ‘n natuurlike stres ontlaaier: Oefening is ‘n wonderlike manier om kinders te help ontspan en “te laat gaan”. Dit help hulle verder met die bou van verhoudinge wat as ‘n ondersteuningstesel kan dien.
  4. Dit help kinders om ‘n lewenslange gesonde leefstyl te ontwikkel: Gereelde fisise aktiwiteit verbeter ‘n kind se fiksheid en help hulle om ‘n gesonde liggaam te ontwikkel.
  5. DIS PRET!!Dit gee kinders ‘n groep waarvan hulle deel kan wees. Hulle is saam met ‘n groep met dieselfde belangstellings.

 

Neem kennis van die volgende belangrike sake:

 

  1. Indien die weer nie toelaat dat ons met die sportoefening voortgaan nie sal daar teen 13:00 ‘n sms aan ouers gestuur word dat die sport gekanselleer is.  Die afrigter sal steeds beskikbaar wees om toesig te hou oor leerlinge wat nie gehaal kan word nie. Oefeninge sal slegs in uiterste gevalle gekanselleer word.
  2. Verseker dat leerlinge asseblief toepaslike oefendrag saambring skooltoe. Dit moet van so ‘n aard wees dat die spesifieke sport daarin gespeel kan word.
  3. Tydens weg wedstryde moet ouers ten minste 30 voor die busse arriveer by die skool wees om hul kinders te kom haal.  Onderwysers sal slegs vir 15 minute hier wees om toesig te hou.
  4. Leerlinge moet hulself reeds teen eerste pouse by die afrigter van die sport verskoon indien hulle nie die oefening kan bywoon nie.
  5. INDIEN U KIND SIEK IS VIR ‘N WEDSTRYD MOET U ASSEBLIEF DIE AFRIGTER VROEGTYDIG LAAT WEET SODAT ‘N PLAASVERVANGER GEVIND KAN WORD. VERKIESLIK DIE VORIGE DAG , OF TEEN 10:00 OP DIE DAG VAN DIE WEDSTRYD.
  6. Sodra ‘n leerling hom/haarself aan ‘n sport verbind het, verwag ons dat hulle elke oefening en wedstryd sal bywoon.  Leerlinge word nie toegelaat om in die middel van ‘n seisoen van sportkode te verander nie bv. van hokkie na netbal. Indien u kind nie vir ‘n span gekies word nie, help hom/haar om nie moed te verloor nie en summier op te hou nie.  Leer hulle dat dit deel van die lewe is en dat hulle moet aanhou.  Daar is baie ander voordele wat hulle uit die sport kan put.
  7. Kommunikeer asseblief gereeld met die afrigters indien u probleme ervaar of voorstelle het.  Moet nie u ongelukkigheid deel met die gemeenskap voordat die skool nie alles in hulle vermoë gedoen het om u te help nie.

CIRCULAR  1 OF 2018

Welcome to the 2018 school year.  We trust that this year will be an exceptional one for you and your child here at the Hutties.

We would particularly like to welcome all new learners and parents to the Huttie family.  We will ensure that your child will make friends quickly and get involved in the school programme and activities.

Please take note of the following important matters:

  1. INFORMATION EVENINGS: Information evenings have been planned for parents with their children’s register teachers.  At these meetings the teachers will give parents more information on what to expect during the year that lies ahead.  It is important that you attend these meetings in the best interest of your child.  Meetings will commence at 17:30.

Grade 1: Wednesday 17 January

Grade 2 : Thursday 18 January

Grade 3 & 7: Monday 22 January

Grade 4: Tuesday 23 January

Grade 5: Wednesday 24 January

Grade 6: Thursday 25 January

Grade 1-3 parents must go directly to your child’s register class. Grade 4-7 parents meet in the school hall before moving to the respective register classes.

 

  1. STAFF: The following members of staff have joined our dynamic team: Mrs Marcel Oosthuizen (English Home Language Gr 6 & 7), Mr Eric Blandin de Chalain (LO, Tech, Geog, Hist), Mrs Marié Jonker (Gr 3 Afr), Ms Dioné Forrester and Ms Megan Steenkamp (Class assistants), Mrs Charmain Swanepoel Grade RR (Huttenpark Kleutersentrum).  Mrs Debbie Motte has been appointed in the HippoTique. We trust that they will be very happy at the Hutties.
  2. SCHOOL TIMES: Please take note of the school times: School starts at 07:30 promptly for all learners, and the last bell rings at 13:15 (Gr 1 & 2), 13:30 (Gr 3) and 14:00 (Gr 4-7) from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays Grade 1 – 3 learners will be dismissed at 12:30 and the rest of the school at 13:30. Please ensure that your child/ren is/are at school ON TIME.  Prefects will lock all the gates at 07:30 and any late arrivals will have to report to the front office with their parents. Please adapt your transport arrangements accordingly. Ensure that your child is at school by 07:25.

 

  1. WAITING CLASS: For the convenience of Gr 1-3 learners a Waiting Class is in operation where learners can wait for their older brothers and sisters or parents who pick them up by 14:00.  This is a free service.  Please make use of it and do not allow children to wait unattended in the road in front of the school.

 

  1. AFTERCARE: A well-equipped Aftercare Centre is available at school where your child/ren can be accommodated every afternoon from 13:00 to 17:15.  This is ideal for parents who work full time and have a problem with where to leave their child/ren.  Two full time ladies are employed by the school.  All learners will also go to a homework session of one hour with Mrs C van Rooyen (Gr 1 & 2) and Mrs M Jonker & J Grobler (Gr 3-7).

We believe that we offer a first class service and provide a place of safety.

The tariffs for 2018 are as follows:

13:00 to 15:00 – R 195 for a 10 day coupon or R 19,50 per day.

13:00 to 17:00 – R 235 for a 10 day coupon or R 23,50 per day.

 

Learners without a coupon and who only visit the Aftercare Centre when the need arises, pay R 35,00 per day.

Coupons are available from the finance office.

Holiday Aftercare:

From 07:30 to 12:00: R 23.50 per day

From 07:30 to 17:00: R 47,00 per day

 

  1. BUS SERVICE: Please take note that the price for a bus trip is R 10,00 per trip

(R 20 per day), 5 day coupon: R 100.  Coupons are available from the finance office. Routes start from school at 06:50, 13:30 and 14:15.  Please contact Mr L Gray for further details.

A fixed route has been set.  We can also only accommodate a certain number of learners on each bus.  Please contact the office if your child has as yet not been registered as a regular passenger, as to ensure that there is space available for your child. You will be supplied with the necessary application forms.

 

  1. SPORT: The sport practice days and coaches have been included for your perusal. Encourage your child to take part in at least one activity per term.
  2. ATHLETICS MEETING: (Gr 4-7) The Inter- House Meeting will take place on Friday 26 January at Amajuba School. The meeting commences at 08:30 and the parents of the Grade 4 to 7 athletes must please ensure that they are at the Amajuba Athletic Track by 08:00. The Grade 1 to 3 learners will come to school at Huttenpark as always.

 

 

  1. SCHOOL FEES 2018: At the AGM of Parents, school fees were approved as indicated below:

Grades 1 – 7:  R 11 540 per learner

Grade 1:  R 11 540 of which R 700 was paid in October, then an instalment of R490 in January and R 1 190 pm from February to October.

Grade 2-7: Normal payments can be made over 10 months from the end of January:     R 1 190 in January and from February to the end of October R 1 150 pm.               No discount of school fees paid in advance will be given this year.

 

Further discounts:  If a parent has 3 or more children in the school, please contact

the office to see if you qualify for further reductions in school fees.  The third child

will qualify for a 50% reduction, but each request will be processed on merit.  Children 1 and 2 will still pay the full amounts.

Cut- off date:  Monthly payments are due before or on the 7th day of each following month.  After this date legal steps will be taken immediately.  Summons will be forwarded each term and all legal costs will be added to your account.

Arrangements:  Parents are advised that any arrangements made in 2017 regarding school fees are now null and void and a new application has to be made in writing as soon as possible.  Address all correspondence to the Governing Body Chairperson, please.

Exemptions:  In certain cases some parents do qualify for exemption or partial exemption from school fees.  Documentation in this regard is available from Mrs Sheila Lizen, the financial secretary.  All applications must reach the school by 28 February 2018.  You will also need to be able to motivate your request to the Governing Body at an interview which you will have to attend.

Please indicate clearly on the deposit slip your child’s name and surname, his/her grade or the reference number as shown on the account.  Proof of payment must be emailed to finance@huttenpark.co.za or faxed to the office at 0867321499.  Take note of the new fax number.

We request that, if possible, you pay each child’s account separately.

Please make arrangements timeously if you encounter any problems regarding payment of school fees.

All tour, clothing, excursion etc. monies paid by EFT – :  clearly indicate child’s name, grade and precisely what the money is for, otherwise it will be credited to your child’s school fees account.  We still receive monies with no indications for whom or where it should be allocated – and these funds are lying unclaimed on our books.

 

Thank you to all parents who have already paid this year’s school fees.

Remember that we have a debit order facility which ensures that you do not forget to pay school fees late.

 

  1. MEDICINE POLICY: According to law, medicine should not be administered to learners. To accommodate this we have designed a form on which parents can give permission to the school to administer certain medicines.  If you do not approve in writing then no medicine will be given to your child when he/she is not feeling well and you as parent will be contacted to collect your child from school if an urgent situation arises.

Please fill in the form and send it back to the register teacher as soon as possible.

 

  1. LUNCHES: Just a reminder that wholesome meals are available at R 28 per meal. (Meals e.g. Macaroni & cheese; Cottage Pie; meat balls, mash & peas; wors & vegetables etc.). Meals are served at 12:00 in the Lapa. If you would like to order, please send the money and the order form back to school.  Lunch will be available from Monday 22 January and menus will be sent out in this week.

 

  1. COMMUNICATION WITH PARENTS: Most people these days have access to the internet. Please visit our Huttenpark website @ huttenpark.co.za for all the latest information about the school as well as all the activities.

Register here as well so that you will receive the weekly programme and all circulars via e-mail.  Our staff really go to great trouble to keep this website up to date and interesting.  It is a quick and highly effective way to keep up to date with all school matters where, after all, your child spends a large part of each day. Please use the correct channels to contact your child’s class or subject teacher to discuss any matters with them.

Please be very careful with your Facebook communications.  This is NOT where you should discuss sensitive matters – rather approach the relevant person; otherwise it can lead to an embarrassing situation for all parties involved.

 THE SMS SYSTEM:  Our SMS system is also a very effective way of communication.  We use this system to send you general messages as well as address more personal matters: e.g. to inform you that your child is absent from school, has received a detention letter or even to congratulate you on a special achievement or to see their test results etc.  Please download the Principal Talk+ App from the APP store and refer to the school website for instructions on how to register. The sms system does allow you to answer or write a sms.   It is essential that we have your correct cell phone number.  Please inform us immediately of any changes.

 

  1. CLOTHING AVAILABLE FROM THE HIPPOTIQUE: Do come to the school shop (HippoTique) to buy a “Huttie supporter” shirt for yourself to wear to any sports activity.

Boys and girls can also buy a Huttie cap or a wide-brimmed hat to protect themselves from the hot sun.  They are allowed to wear them to school as well as to sport.

A reminder that the HippoTique is located behind the admin block – where Huttenpark clothing as well as sportswear is available. Those of you who have visited the shop will know that it is fully operational and that we are able to offer the school uniform at more affordable prices.

  1. SUN PROTECTION: The extreme heat we are experiencing currently makes it so much more important to ensure that your child is protected from the sun. Please make use of a SPF30+ sunblock every morning and let your child/ren wear a school hat or cap and ensure that they bring enough water to school to drink.

 

  1. SCHOOL BAGS: I would like to remind you regarding a circular that went out in 2017 regarding the school bag policy. No cases with wheels are to be brought to school with the exception of those learners who are in grade 5, 6 or 7 and had the bags in 2017.

Welkom by die 2018 skooljaar.  Ons glo en vertrou dat dit ‘n besondere jaar vir u en u kind hier by die skool sal wees.

Ons wil graag in besonder al ons nuwe leerlinge en ouers by die Huttie familie verwelkom.  Ons weet dat u kind vinnig sal inskakel by die skool en ons aktiwiteite.

Neem asseblief kennis van die volgende sake:

1.      INLIGTINGSAANDE: Daar is inligtingsaande vir alle ouers saam met hulle kinders se registeronderwysers.  Tydens hierdie vergaderings sal die onderwysers u meedeel wat om in die komende jaar te verwag. Dit is belangrik dat u hierdie vergaderings bywoon in die beste belang van u kind.  Vergaderings begin om 17:30

2.      PERSONEEL:  Ons verwelkom graag die volgende nuwe personeel by die span:     Mev. Marcel Oosthuizen (Engels Huistaal gr 6 & 7), Mnr Eric Blainin de Chalain (LO), Mev.Marié Jonker (Gr 3 Afr), Mej. Donné Forrester en Mej. Megan Steenkamp (Klasassistente), asook Mev. Charmain Swanepoel by graad RR (Huttenpark Kleutersentrum).  Mev. Debbie Motte is in die HippoTique aangestel. Sy is reeds hard aan die werk en ons glo sy het reeds haar voete gevind.

Ons groet Mnr. Thinus Laatz en Mev. Ilze Myburgh wat die onderwys vaarwel roep en en bedank hulle vir hulle waardevolle insette oor die afgelope jare.                    Mej. Melanie van den Berg, wat die graad 2 klasassistent was, skuif nou as voltydse onderwyseres na die graad 3 Afrikaanse klas en Mej. Jana Grobler skuif van graad 3 na graad 6.

3.      SKOOLTYE GR 1-7:    Neem kennis van die skooltye.  Die skool begin soggens stiptelik om 07:30 en die laaste klok lui om 13:15 (Gr 1 & 2), 13:30 (Gr 3) en 14:00 (Gr 4-7) van Maandag tot Donderdag.  Op Vrydae verdaag die graad 1 -3 leerlinge om 12:30 en die res van die skool om 13:30.  Sorg asseblief dat u kind betyds by die skool besorg word. Prefekte sal die hekke om 07:30 sluit, en leerlinge wat laat is moet saam met hulle ouers in die kantoor aanmeld.  Verseker dat u kind eerder teen 07:25 op die laatste by die skool is.

4.      SKOOLTYE KLEUTERSENTRUM: Deure open om 07:00 soggens.  Klasse begin om 08:00 en leerlinge moet dan reeds by die skool wees.  Formele klasse tot  12:00 vir 3,4 en 5 jarige klasse en 12:15 vir die graad R klasse en dan neem nasorg ‘n aanvang tot 17:15.

5.      WAGKLAS:  Vir die gerief van ouers sal die graad 1- 3 leerlinge in ‘n wagklas, onder toesig, gehou word totdat hulle broers of susters om 14:00 uitkom.  Hierdie wagklas is ‘n GRATIS diens en sal gehou word in die speelparkie digby die juniorfase klasse.

6.      NASORG:  Ons beskik oor twee goed toegeruste nasorgsentrums waarvan u gebruik kan maak as ‘n veilige hawe om u kinders smiddae laat.  Daar is twee voltydse dames  aan diens van 13:00 tot 17:15 by die Huttenpark kampus.

Op die kleutersentrum kampus begin nasorg om 12:00 tot 17:15 waar daar drie voltydse dames aan diens sal wees.

Leerlinge sal ook na mevv Van Rooyen (Gr 1&2) en M Jonker J Grobler (Gr 3-7) gaan vir een uur se tuiswerk van Maandae tot Donderdae.

Ons glo dat hierdie nasorgfasiliteit ‘n diens van hoogstaande gehalte lewer.  ‘n Plek waar u, u kind met gemoedsrus kan laat.

Die tariewe vir 2018 is as volg:

Huttenpark:

13:00 tot 15:00 – R 195 vir ‘n 10 dae koepon ;  (R19.50 per dag)

7.      BUSROETES: R 10,00 per rit ( R 20 per dag) 5 dag koepon: R 100.  Koepons is beskikbaar in die kantoor.  Roetes word soggens vanaf 06:50, om 13:00 en om 14:00 gery.  Kontak asseblief Mnr. L Gray vir verdere navrae.

Daar is ‘n vaste roete wat gery word, en ons kan slegs ‘n sekere hoeveelheid leerlinge op die bus toelaat. Kontak die kantoor indien u nie reeds u kind geregistreer het as ‘n “buskind,” nie om sodoende te verseker dat daar wel plek op die bus is.

 

8.      SPORT: Ek sluit hierby die sportprogram vir die kwartaal in. Moedig asseblief u kind om ten minste aan een aktiwiteit deel te neem.

9.      ATLETIEKBYEENKOMS: (Graad 4-7) Die interhuisbyeenkoms vind reeds plaas op Vrydag 26 Januarie by die atletiekveld van Hoërskool Amajuba.  Die byeenkoms begin om 08:30 en ouers van leerlinge in graad 4 – 7 moet assbelief hul kinders  teen 08:00 by Amajuba Skool besorg.  Die Graad 1-3 leerlinge gaan normaalweg skool by Huttenpark.

10.  SKOOLFONDS 2018:

SKOOLFONDS HUTTENPARK:

Tydens die Algemene Jaarvergadering van Ouers is die skoolfonds vir leerlinge in graad 1-7  vasgestel op R 11 540. Gewone betaling geskied oor 10 maande as volg: Jan: R1 190 en dan Feb tot Okt: R 1 150 pm.

SKOOLFONDS GR 1: R 11 500 per jaar waarvan R 700 in November 2017 betaalbaar was.

SKOOLFONDS KLEUTERSENTRUM:

Babasorg: R 1 200 x 12 maande

Peutersorg: R 1 200 x 12 maande

Kleuters 3 jaar tot 6 jaar: R 9 790 per jaar; R 890 pm x 11 maande vir leerlinge wat 5 dae ‘n week kom.

 

Ander Korting: Ouers met 3 of meer kinders kan die skool kontak om te hoor of hulle kwalifiseer vir korting op skoolfonds.  Die derde kind kwalifiseer vir 50% korting.   Elke versoek sal op meriete hanteer word.  Die eerste twee kinders betaal steeds die volle bedrag.

Keerdatum: Maandelikse paaiemente is betaalbaar voor of op die 7de dag van die volgende maand,  waarna geregtelike stappe onmiddellik in werking tree.  Oorhandigings sal kwartaalliks geskied, en enige regskostes sal by u rekening gevoeg word.

Reëlings: Ouers word daaraan herinner dat enige reëlings wat in 2017 getref is, opnuut aan die  begin van elke nuwe jaar skriftelik gemaak moet word. Rig hierdie korrespondensie aan die Beheerliggaam Voorsitter.

Vrystellings: In sekere uitsonderlike gevalle kwalifiseer ouers om aansoek te doen vir vrystelling of  gedeeltelike vrystelling van skoolfonds.  Dokumentasie vir die aansoek vir vrystelling is by Sheila Lizen, die finansiële sekretaresse beskikbaar.  Aansoeke moet die skool teen 28 Feb 2018 bereik.  U sal dan ook u redes kan motiveer by ‘n onderhoud met die Beheerliggaam se Finansiëlekomitee wat u moet bywoon.

11.  MEDISYNEBELEID:  Volgens wetgewing mag ons nie medisyne aan leerlinge voorsien nie.  Ons het egter ‘n vorm ontwerp waarby u, as ouer, toestemming verleen dat ons spesifieke medikasie kan toedien.  Indien u nie toestemming verleen nie sal geen medikasie aan u kind gegee word nie, en sal u geskakel word om u kind by die skool te kom haar.  Vul asseblief die meegaande vorm in en stuur terug na u kind se registeronderwyser.

 

12.  MIDDAGETES:  Ons herinner u aan die gesonde, gebalanseerde middagetes wat aan die leerlinge  verskaf word teen R28 per ete (Gr 1-7) en R15 per ete vir kleuters.  (Macaroni & kaas; herderspastei, frikkadelle, kapokaartappel (mash) en ertjies; wors en groente, is maar ‘n paar van die voorbeelde).  Hierdie etes sal op bestelling, van 12:00  beskikbaar wees in die lapa asook by die kleuterskool.  Die spyskaart vir die volgende paar weke is hierby ingesluit.  Stuur u bestelling saam met die kontant skool toe.  Etes sal op Maandag 22 Januarie by HP en 3 Januarie by die kleutersentrum begin.

 

13.  KOMMUNIKASIE VANAF DIE SKOOL:  Die meeste mense het deesdae toegang tot die internet.  Besoek asseblief  Huttenpark se webwerf by www.huttenpark.co.za om al die nuutste inligting oor die skool en sy aktiwiteite te verkry.  Registreer ook asseblief hier sodat u die weeklikse program en omsendbriewe via e-pos en D6 boodskappe kan ontvang.  Ons personeel doen baie moeite om op ‘n gereelde grondslag die webwerf op te dateer.  Dit is ‘n vinnige en effektiewe manier om op hoogte te bly met skoolsake, waar u kind tog die meeste van die dag deurbring.  Skakel gerus met u kind se klasonderwyser om belangrike sake met hulle te bespreek.

Wees asseblief baie versigtig met u Facebook kommunikasie.  Sensitiewe sake moet beslis nie hier aangespreek word nie, en moet liefs met die regte persone opgeneem word.  Dit kan anders vir u en vir ons in ‘n verleentheid ontaard.

Ons het ook ‘n Huttenpark Facebook blad waarby u kan aansluit.  Ons plaas gereeld foto’s en verslae van funksies hierop.

 

Ons sms stelsel is ook ‘n baie effektiewe wyse van kommunikasie.  Ons gebruik die stelsel om algemene boodskappe aan u te stuur asook meer persoonlike boodskappe soos om u te laat weet indien u kind afwesig is, of indien hy/sy ‘n detensiebrief ontvang het of om u geluk te wens met ‘n prestasie. Hulle toetspunte is ook op die stelsel beskikbaar. Met die stelsel kan u antwoord op die boodskap of self ‘n boodskap stuur.  Laai asseblief die Principal Talk+ toep (APP) af en besoek die skool se webwerf om riglyne te kry van hoe om te registreer.  Dit is egter uiters noodsaaklik dat ons te alle tye u korrekte selnommer het.

 

14.  KLERASIE BY DIE HIPPOTIQUE:  Koop gerus in die skoolwinkel (HippoTique) vir u ‘n Huttie ondersteunershemp om na sportgeleenthede te dra.

Seuns en dogters kan ook ‘n Huttie pet of ‘n wyerandhoed koop as beskerming teen die warm son.  Dit kan skool toe asook vir sport gedra word.

15.  SONBESKERMING: In die lig van die uiters warm dae wat ons beleef wil ons aanbeveel dat u kind ‘n skoolpet of breerandhoed skooltoe bring. Verseker dat die items duidelik gemerk is. Leerders word aanbeveel om SPF30 of hoër voor skool aan te wend en weer voor middagsport begin.

 

16.  SKOOLTASSE: Ek herinner u aan die beleid oor wielietjiestasse wat in 2017 aan u gestuur is.  Slegs graad 5, 6 en 7 leerlinge wat wielietjiestasse gehad het mag hulle gebruik tot tyd en wyl hulle vervang moet word.  Die Huttenpark skooltas is in die HippoTique beskikbaar en is verpligtend.

 

Baie sterkte vir die jaar wat voorlê.  Ons glo dit sal ‘n onvergeetlike jaar vir u kind wees.
